A Google listing.
A website too?
A Google listing covers the basics. A website gives you space to explain services, show your work and collect enquiries. Start with what your customers need.
The short answer
Buy a website when it has a clear job to do. That might be explaining a service, answering repeated questions, showing your work or collecting an enquiry. If your listing already gives customers what they need and you have the work you want, keeping it current may be enough for now.
If there is a useful job for a site, Venant Studio writes, designs and builds it: $700 plus $100/month to keep it online and up to date, or $1,000 once if you’d rather run it yourself.
A listing alone.
When it’s enough.
Use these questions to decide whether a site would solve a current problem.
- You have the work you want. Would a site still help customers prepare for a visit or save your team repeated explanations? If not, a build may be a lower priority.
- Referrals arrive well informed. Ask what people check before contacting you. If the listing answers their questions, there may be no immediate information gap.
- Your offer is easy to explain. Can customers understand the service, area covered and next step from the listing? More complex services may need fuller explanations.
- Customers can judge whether you fit. Check whether the photos, service details and reviews give them enough to make a useful enquiry.
- The basics are current. Check the phone number, opening hours, services and location. Correct missing or outdated details before deciding that the whole website needs work.

More context.
Easier decisions.
Explain the details of your service
Use a service page to explain who you help, what happens next and the questions customers ask before booking. Pricing guidance, first-visit information or what a quote includes can sit together in an order that makes sense.
Give each service a useful page
A dedicated page gives you a link to share when someone asks about a particular service. Explain the work, the area you cover and how to enquire, rather than making people piece it together from separate posts.
Keep a website you can move
Check who holds the domain and whether you receive the site files. With Venant Studio, the domain and files are yours, so you can change who hosts or maintains the site. Keep the domain registration and hosting current.
Guide an enquiry from start to finish
Google profiles can include booking and other action links. Your website adds space to explain the process before someone uses a form or follows your booking link. Make clear what happens after they enquire.
Show the people and work behind it
Bring together genuine team photos, examples of your work and relevant experience. Use the details customers need to assess your business, with permission for any customer material and clear labels for examples.
Your website.
Your level of support.
Start with the gap you found. You do not need to buy every service or follow a fixed sequence.
Manage the listing yourself. Google Business Profile is free. It still needs your time to keep details accurate and respond to customers.
Choose a website builder if you want to write and manage the pages yourself. Check its current subscription, domain and add-on fees before starting.
A 5–8 page website, written for you after a call, plus setting up your Google listing. The $100/month plan keeps it online and up to date. Or pay $1,000 once and run it yourself.
Ongoing Google work and new content come with the $249.99/month plan. Social media management is a separate plan, and an AI receptionist or Google Ads can be arranged on request. Add them when you have a clear need, suitable budget and a way to check whether they help.
Start with your business.
I do the writing, design and build. We agree the pages your business needs, and you review the site before launch.
If updating the listing is the useful next step, I'll say so. If a website would help, you get a plan and a price to consider. Compare the website options →
Work out what your business needs.
Share your business, Google listing and what customers struggle to find. I’ll recommend whether to update the listing or build a website.
